About Us
A family run Country Guest House, our unique style is relaxed, friendly and informal with none of the trappings of a stuffy Hotel.
Managed by Jane & Lee Mott, Lee is an award-winning wildlife photographer with a lifelong passion for the Natural World, with an affinity for birds. Lee can passionately help you plan your visit to the south mainland of Shetland, with his intimate knowledge of the landscape and wildlife.
The Lounge gives fantastic views of the trees that surround the Inn and the bay beyond. Comfortable seating is provided for you to sit away your time over a drink.
A drying room is available for the outdoor types to dry their coats and boots for the following day. For the fisherman, we have outbuildings where tackle can be washed and stored.
ABOUT HOSWICK:
Hoswick is an idyllic quiet village of the district of Sandwick, awarded the accolades of “Scottish community of the year 1999-2000” and “best community in the UK”.
Located in a sheltered bay, the Orca Country Guest House lies on the edge of the village overlooking the Bay of Hoswick and the superb sandy beach of Levenwick. Setter Burn runs past the village and down to the beach, where waterfalls also cascade into the sea. In spring and early summer wildflowers set the landscape aglow with colour and the silence is only broken by the lapping of the sea and the calls of the birds. On still, windless days it’s so quiet you can hear the birds’ wings as they fly past.
The village is also home to Laurance Odie Knitwear at Hoswick Woollen Mill and a very well represented Visitor centre.

Owner Lee Mott also runs his own wildlife photograpy courses based here in the Shetlands. Please visit our website to view more details on these great courses.
